Back toDAY 1: ARRIVE ROME
Arrive Rome Airport; transfer & check in to hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay hotel.
DAY 2: SKIP THE LINE: VATICAN MUSEUMS, SISTINE CHAPEL AND RAPHAEL’S ROOMS HALF DAY
Breakfast at the hotel. Then proceed to visit all of the most important sights of Vatican City with this unique guided Vatican City Tour with the added advantage of avoiding the queue. Avoid the lengthy queues and explore one of the world’s most extensive art collections with an expert local guide on this fascinating tour of the Vatican. Your guide will share the stories and secrets contained within the Museums’ walls, pleasures originally meant for the exclusive enjoyment of the Pope. Experience Michelangelo’s famous Creation of Adam with you own eyes as you explore the Sistine Chapel and wander Raphael’s Rooms. After taking in the Museums, be humbled by the imposing beauty of Saint Peter’s Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo’s masterpieces, La Pieta’. For a fascinating finish, you will stop to admire the magnificent Saint Peter’s Square, as your guide points out Bernini’s ingenious use of optical illusion. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: NAPLES-CAPRI-ANACAPRI
Breakfast at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Or you can proceed for full day trip to Naples and Capri. We travel southwards along the Autostrada del Sole and arrive in Naples to board the jetfoil for the island of Capri. Upon arrival and weather permitting we visit the Blue Grotto, a miracle of equilibrium between water, light and reflections of the wonderful sea-floors. Returning to Marina Grande we proceed by minibus to Anacapri for lunch. Then there will be free time for shopping and it’s back to Marina Grande to embark for Naples.
DAY 4: ROME – FLORENCE
After breakfast transfer to the station. Take a train to Florence. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Florence.
DAY 5: EXCURSION TO PISA
After breakfast, day is at leisure. Afternoon proceed for a splendid excursion through the fertile and picturesque Tuscan countryside towards the historic university city of Pisa, famous for its architectural beauty. After a panoramic drive along the beautiful riversides, the tour proceeds with a guided tour to Piazza dei Miracoli to find the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, an unequalled masterpiece of Romanesque art carried out between the 11th and 12th centuries, the Baptistery and other important monuments. You will then walk to Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world, resides.
DAY 6: FLORENCE – VENICE// GONDOLA SERENADE
After breakfast transfer to the station. Take a train to Venice. On arrival transfer to the hotel. In the evening we suggest you to can enjoy gondola ride
Just sit back in your gondola and allow yourself to be serenaded as you float past the palaces of the Grand Canal. We join a flotilla of gondolas gathered around a barge containing the musicians and singers to float along the fascinating Grand Canal, glittering in the reflection of the illuminated facades of the sumptuous ‘Palazzos’. Return in the dark stillness of some of Venice’s interior canals. Overnight in Venice.
DAY 7: HALF DAY TO MURANO, BURANO AND TORCELLO
Breakfast at the hotel. Then proceed for Murano to see how the beautiful coloured glass is made, then on to the pretty islands of Burano and Torcello. After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant’Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat arrives in Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here we stop for around 40 minutes to visit to one of the factories. The second stop is at the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colours. The stop will last about 30 minutes. Then after a short cruise, we reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the estuary. Only the Cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. The stop will be for about 30 minutes then we return to St.Mark’s Square.
DAY 8: VENICE- INTERLAKEN
After breakfast transfer to the station. Take a train to Swiss airport or Swiss border. Arrival in Interlaken by train 2nd class from the Swiss border or any Swiss airport (included). Overnight in Interlaken.
DAY 9: JUNGFRAUJOCH
Breakfast at the hotel. Then take an Excursion from Interlaken up to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. From Interlaken Ost the train takes you via Lauterbrunnen (change of trains) and Wengen to the Kleine Scheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall. Then by Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch – at 3454m/ 11’333 ft the highest railway station in Europe. Breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. Overnight in Interlaken
DAY 10: INTERLAKEN – LUCERNE
After breakfast take a train to Lucerne by Brunig Express from Interlaken (panoramic seats in 1st class only).
DAY 11: MT. TITLIS
After breakfast enjoy a ride in the first revolving gondola to Mount Titlis, 3020m/ 10’000 ft. In Lucerne you board the LSE-train to Engelberg, where a small gondola takes you up to the Trubsee. You continue your trip by another gondola to Stand. Finally the revolving gondola takes you up to Mount Titlis. For a spectacular, close up insight into a glacier, you visit the glacier cave and ride the Ice Flyer chair lift. Overnight in Lucerne.
DAY 12: LUCERNE –ZURICH
After breakfast take a train to Zurich. On arrival check into the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Zurich.
DAY 13: THE ZURICH TROLLEY EXPERIENCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Then discover the sights of Zurich aboard the unique ‘Classic Trolley’. This trolley, the first of its kind in Switzerland, is styled on those of yesteryear, but with all the comforts for today’s discerning traveler. Commentary is provided by headset and you can choose from eight languages. In approx 2 hours we will take you through our beautiful city and show you the business and financial centre, Bahnhofstrasse, the most important museums, a section of the Old Town, Fraumunster Church with its famous Chagall windows, historical Limmatquai, the University district, residential areas, beautiful hillside villas on the Zurichberg, as well as recreation areas and views of the Alps from Zurich’s vantage points.
DAY 14: ZURICH – PARIS
After breakfast take a train to Swiss border or airport. Take a train to Paris. On arrival transfer to Hotel. Overnight in Paris.
DAY 15: HISTORICAL PARIS & PARIS SEINORAMA
After breakfast proceed for city tour of Paris. Paris was created 2000 years ago and began at the Cite Island (Ile de la Cite). You will discover the Marais District and the Latin Quarter. After a mini-cruise on the River Seine to reach ‘Ile de la Cite’ you will then enjoy a guided tour of Notre Dame Cathedral. The second part of our tour is called ‘Paris Seinorama’, (recorded commentary via individual earphones), in which you will firstly discover Place de la Concorde, Avenue des Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. You will then be taken to a prestigious residential area near to the Bois de Boulogne, before enjoying a one hour cruise on the River Seine. Finally, enjoy a visit to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower and admire the superb panoramic views over Paris.
DAY 16: DISNEYLAND PARIS (BY MINIBUS, TWO PARKS)
After breakfast day is free for shopping. Or you can visit Disney Land. This is a one day pass to Disneyland Resort Paris that gives a full day in the two parks. This includes return transfers on board a luxury motor coach from the centre of Paris to Disneyland Paris and admission ticket for Walt Disney Studios Park and the Disneyland Park. Once you step through the Walt Disney Studios Gates, let your imagination soar and immerse yourself in the never-ending, always fascinating world of movies and television. When you enter the Disneyland Theme Parks, an enchanting kingdom filled with fun, fantasy and discovery will form before your eyes, a world of make-believe characters, shows and attractions. Whichever park you visit, you will discover the most magical place on earth inspired by the most magical dream of all: yours.
DAY 17: DEPARTURE
After breakfast transfer to the airport. Take a flight back to home.
